How to Get to Saona Island From Punta Cana

Owen’s excursions combine a road journey to Bayahíbe and a sea journey towards Saona. A road transfer to the harbour does not automatically include a boat or the return from the island.

1. Identify your hotel and pickup area

Punta Cana includes accommodation in different areas. Provide the full hotel name, especially when a chain has several resorts. Uvero Alto, Bávaro and Cap Cana do not necessarily share a pickup time or route. The team coordinates the exact time and meeting point for your booking; another traveller’s time is not your confirmation.

2. Reach boarding with the right service

The classic Saona from Punta Cana product organises transport and the excursion listed in its details. If booking only a transfer to Bayahíbe, you must arrange the boat, departure time and return separately. Do not confuse an airport transfer with a complete excursion or assume reaching the harbour gives access to any departure.

3. Allow for driving, boarding, stops and the return

Planning the day means allowing for pickup, driving, boarding arrangements, sailing, activities and the return to your hotel. A straight-line distance between Punta Cana and Saona does not describe this route. Review the product duration and disclose flights or return commitments before paying; do not treat an estimate as a guaranteed arrival.

4. If you are already in Bayahíbe, check the correct starting point

Staying in Bayahíbe or La Romana changes the starting point but does not remove the need to confirm boarding, date and option. Review the Bayahíbe departure guide and confirm the appropriate option with the team. Punta Cana pickup conditions do not automatically apply to another area.
