Next, visit the 13th-century Paleokastritsa Monastery, where whitewashed walls, flower-filled courtyards and sweeping sea views offer peace and beauty; Admission is free and donations are accepted. Continue to Lakones – Bella Vista Viewpoint, known as the “balcony of the Ionian”, for panoramic views and a perfect photo or coffee stop. Finally, ascend to Angelokastro, the spectacular Byzantine castle overlooking the sea; a short uphill hike will reward you with 360° views (small ticket required, not included).
